"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."

A Seedlings of Change Funded Project
A Seedlings of Change Funded Project: Suzan Nabujja,in association with the Africa Women Development Efforts Organization (EWEDO) in Soroti, Uganda Sustainable Farming Project and Tailoring Project. These projects empower the women, children and community members to improve quality of life within their community by learning life and sustainability skills through economic and educational outreach.

The Following is a letter from Suzan Nabujja sharing about their experiences:
Despite the biting poverty we are pleased to let you know that God has blessed us with a calf and we expect to harvest some good yields this year! This is evident in the work we are doing for the women and children and the Tailoring Project.
When the children are at home from school they participate in the planting and weeding of the crops, feeding the animals which is a good thing to do since it's their project. I am pleased because they are enthusiastic and eager to learn!
The women and older children manifest special love for the younger ones when they started sharing with them the importance of education and encouraging them to stay in school and not to drop out of school before completion. This project is really a miracle to these women and children. And when we establish a good Tailoring and Knitting Center this too will make a big impact in their lives and for this community.
We are so grateful to Seedlings of Change for the support given to these women and children. We are in need of ongoing support that we may build up our capacity to sustain our services to enable the women and children to support themselves and their families in the future. Together we make a difference in the lives of the children, women and their community. ~Suzan Nabujja

Letter from Suzan Nabujja:
We finally have received four cows as you will see them in the photographs, and also the ox-plough. The women and children are very appreciative, and happy with this project! They say, "This project will uplift their livelihood and they will get empowered!"
One cow is with a calf! We are in need of a milk can since the container the women are currently using is a saucepan and this is not safe for this milk as you see in the photos. These women are very grateful for Seedlings of Change support. They are praying and sending many blessings that the project continues for many years.
The night before we were to meet with the women and children, it rained and it destroyed one of the huts. The wind blew so heavily and carried off the grass of one of the huts that it forced them to leave for another hut until they locate grass for repairs. The dogs in the pictures act as security and guard the home.
These people live in poverty. They have one meal a day in order to survive, it is only when they harvest their food from the gardens that they are able to have two meals a day. They will eat maize, cassava when available.
The women are the sole bread winners in the homes, they do a lot of gardening and domestic work. The men tend to be irresponsible as they go out to drink and provide little support to their families. ~Suzan Nabujja
