The University of Montana Office for Civic Engagement is teaming up with Pull Together Now! and Seedlings of Change to host four guest speakers who will share their experiences in creating a sustainable world during the International Speakers Forum from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, in University Center Rooms 326-327. The event is free and open to the public.
Speakers include Annika Dopping, a well-known and popular environmental journalist, filmmaker and author in Sweden; Lars Larsson, an engineer, inventor and researcher in sustainable traditions who will present on his water project with the Maasai in Tanzania; Kelly Franklin, founder of Sustainable Smiles, who will talk about her work with youth in Thailand, Cambodia and Austria; and Mike Robertson, a community organizer who will share his experience in dealing with the complexities of balancing sustainability with economic survival using British Columbia’s Cheslatta Carrier Nation as a case study. The speakers will share their unique perspectives on common challenges and visit with the audience about finding solutions through collaboration.
