                    Guest Speakers

                    1.       Annika Dopping is a well-known and popular journalist, filmmaker and author in Sweden. Annika (known as the Oprah of Sweden) spreads the word of important and crucial insights into achieving a better world for mankind. She is a messenger for environmental concerns, human health and survival issues, all of which she has manifested into TV productions, films, books, articles, seminars. Annika often moderates conferences on sustainability issues and leadership.

                    1. Lars Larsson is an engineer, inventor and researcher in sustainable traditions who possesses a lifetime of knowledge collected from interviews with hundreds of elders, and indigenous peoples from all over the world. He is knowledgeable in many areas and combines advanced techniques with traditional methods in the most efficient manner to solve many of our shared problems. His applications serve many people whether in an urban environment or remote villages.  As weather extremes become the norm it is important to understand how to incorporate timeless knowledge with modern technology to develop sustainable systems that will serve all people. Lars will tell us about his sustainable water project with the Maasai in Tanzania among other topics.
                    2. Kelly Franklin, formerly of Alberton, MT and founder of Sustainable Smiles, (http://www.sustainablesmiles.org/) will share about her work with youth in Thailand, Cambodia and Austria. Kelly is an excellent example of a young person getting involved to promote environmental, social and economic sustainability; she’s definitely making the world a better place!
                    3. Mike Robertson. For 30 years, Mike Robertson has tirelessly worked with the Cheslatta Carrier Nation, a small, semi-remote community of 120 people in north-central British Columbia, which was devastated by a hydro-electric project in the 1950’s.  Mike recognized the spirit and grit of the survivors and dedicated his life in helping them overcome impossible obstacles and barriers to achieve a level of self-sufficiency, unparalleled in many communities much larger.  The Cheslatta have literally risen from the ashes, to become a strong, vibrant community and a highly respected player in the regional economy, all the while protecting and maintaining the integrity of their land.  Their motto:  It Is Us Together...All Of Us.  Mike will share his experience in dealing with the complexities of balancing sustainability with economic survival.

Following the presentations Annika Dopping will moderate an open discussion exploring how to pull together, as a collective voice of common people, in support of people like our guests, ourselves and others creating a sustainable world.

The Pull Together Now vision states: We believe that the people of the world, united by the power of good minds, will transcend all religious, social, ethnic and political barriers and pull together place-to-place, face-to-face in support of peace, equity, justice and reconciliation with our environment and each other. Please join us!
